These lights are dangerous & Poorly Made : High Power WHITE + BLUE LED Aquarium Reef corals grow light. 2512W+B
Ok I bought some of these from a friend they were 1 week old. I supplanted my 250watt metal halides.. After about 2 weeks I sold them.. First off they don't compare to 400watt mh. They barley compare to 175 watt mh. The color they yield docent look that great mh look much chrisper/clean looking. They also don't get the depth as a mh does. The someone in the first post has no idea what they are talking about.. There's no way they saved 450$ a month by switching to these.. I live in south Florida also and have a 200 gallon tank.. My house is 3800 sq feet and my ac is set at 73 degrees and with my chiller and mh and tank running my electric bill is in the middle of 450-500$ in the dog days of august(hot as all can be) the two weeks I used them my electric bill was 10-15$ less so double that to get my months savings.. Pros: the blue(actinic) made the corals glow that's about it..
Now keep in mind these are 1 watt Leds not 4 or 6 or 10.....One watt. If you had a 110 gallon aquarium you would need 6 of theses and make sure your sps's are all the way up top. They would be good for a 18" or less tall tank. If you are more of a solfty coral someone like zoas, mushrooms, leathers,etc these are fine but then again so or power compacts.......there are a few companies out there that have led fixtures more comparable to mh.. As for the cost yes they are much cheaper that most companies. Would I recommend these to someone prob not. Now please keep in mind that this is just my view and my contact with these fixtures.
