I'm Happy : Marineland ML Double Bright LED Light, 36-Inch, 48-Inch
I bought this light for a 75 gallon (48 in long) freshwater aquarium that will used as a home for herbaceous fish, living in medium to lower light environments. This means there are no live plants in the aquarium, and interesting light is not a requirement.
Pros - A nice dispersement of light; power efficient; low profile: hovers near the glass but not on the glass, allowing you to see any algae growth starting to form on the underside of the hood; very nice daytime lighting effect.
Cons - Begins to "sag" when extended to the full 48 inches. Marineland could have made the prolongation arms a tad more sturdy; the moon light blue Leds are barely effective. You know they are there, but are inconsequential. Doubling the estimate of blues would have been easy. Double power cords and switches would be a nice addition for use of timers for the two light settings.
All in all, not a bad fixture for the price. A 48 inch version would be better, with the same estimate of white Leds and Double the blue Leds, but this is not yet available in this price range.
If you are on a cheap funds and do not wish to grow live plants, this is a great fixture for your money.
